Occipital Release

For this technique you will need a piece of equipment that can be made at home with relative ease. Follow the guide below.

Items required - One sock, two tennis balls, and a pair of scissors.

a) Using the sock as a form of sleeve, place the two tennis balls inside and feed them to the toe end of the sock.

b) Holding the two tennis balls tight to the end of the sock, tie a knot in the end and cut away the excess material.

Having produced your new tool -

1. Lie down face up on a firm surface (carpeted floor is ideal), place the tool on the floor and rest the rear of your head on top. The area of contact with the tool upon the head is at the base of the occiput (see diagrams).

2. Retain this position for between five to ten minutes.

3. Take care as you stand, as following this self-treatment you may feel light headed for a short period as your body self-corrects.
