Amatsu

What happens during an Amatsu treatment?

An Amatsu treatment can last from half an hour to an hour, depending on the requirements of the patient. In the first instance a detailed personal history of the patient will be taken. The practitioner will discuss any issues you feel relevant to your needs and assist you to understand the source of your problem.

Your Amatsu practitioner will then take a detailed physical examination using observation, muscle and mobility testing and palpation to gather information on the current state of your body. Following this, the practitioner will carry out the gentle (often painless and relaxing) treatment using the necessary techniques. During the treatment you will not be asked to remove clothing to any degree that you feel uncomfortable with (we do however request that you wear loose fitting clothing as some techniques involve manipulations that may be restricted by tight fitting clothes).

The number of treatments required to resolve or address problems satisfactorily varies from patient to patient and condition to condition, an example of a typical course of treatment may be four to six weekly treatments followed by regular ‘maintenance’ visit each six to ten weeks. A number of factors affect the course of development of the patient including issues such as -

Is it an acute or chronic problem?
Is it an acute problem with an underlying chronic cause?
What is the general heath of the patient?
What other outside factors such as job and lifestyle need to be considered?
Is there a specific time frame due to a forthcoming holiday or event?
